How the AGI NexGen Paddle Sweep Works

The AGI NexGen Paddle Sweep moves remaining grain toward the center discharge well after gravity unloading. A chain fitted with rubber paddles carries grain along the sweep, while a powered tractor advances the unit around the bin floor.
Designed for commercial grain bin cleanout, the system combines a direct-drive reducer with modular construction for bins from 48 to 135 feet in diameter. Available control panels manage sweep and tractor operation as part of a complete zero-entry unloading solution.

Key Features of the AGI NexGen Paddle Sweep

  • Chain & Rubber Paddles
A chain fitted with rubber paddles moves remaining grain toward the center discharge well during the final stage of bin unloading.
  • Direct-Drive System
A C-Face reducer drives the sweep without belts or pulleys to adjust. Available 15–30 HP drives support a range of bin sizes.
  • Modular Construction
Modular sections accommodate grain bins from 48 to 135 feet in diameter, allowing the sweep to be configured for your bin.
  • Automated Sweep Controls
Available control panels use amperage settings to automatically start, stop, and reverse sweep operation. Series 3 adds a touchscreen PLC and sweep position monitoring.

AGI Paddle Sweep Controls & Zero-Entry Solutions

Manage sweep and tractor operation with available Series 2 and Series 3 control panels. Automated functions help support a complete zero-entry grain bin unloading solution.

Series 2

Amperage-based control

Set operating amperage levels and manage the sweep with automatic functions or manual forward and reverse control.

  • Adjustable amperage set points
  • Automatic start, stop, and reverse functions
  • Manual forward and reverse operation
  • Capacity control settings
  • Emergency shut-off and a main power switch with lockout/tagout provisions

Series 3

Touchscreen PLC control

Monitor sweep position and manage operating settings from a touchscreen interface, with tractor control based on amperage.

  • Touchscreen PLC interface
  • Automatic tractor start and stop based on amperage
  • Automatic sweep reverse when needed
  • Capacity settings and sweep position monitoring
  • Emergency shut-off and a main power switch with lockout/tagout provisions

Plan the complete system. Zero-entry operation depends on the sweep, controls, discharge equipment, and site configuration working together. Ag Motion can help define the configuration and supply scope for your project.

Ask About Your Bin Size

Built into Your Grain Bin Unloading System

Match the paddle sweep with the right discharge wells, floor details, and unload equipment. These components help define how grain moves from the bin into the rest of your handling system.

Center Well

48 × 48 in well, 18 in deep, with a 30 in outlet flange and spring-loaded pivot stand.

AGI intermediate grain discharge well

Intermediate Wells

24 in and 30 in options, with recommended spacing of 8 ft and 10 ft on center, respectively.

Floor & Tunnel Requirements

Plan 4–5 ft minimum tunnel space for gates, controls, and the transition to your unload system. Wear track plates are recommended where sweep casters cross aeration.

Transitions, gates, and controls are not included with the discharge wells. Confirm component selection, clearances, and supply scope for your project.

AGI NexGen Paddle Sweep FAQ

Answers to common questions about sizing, controls, and planning your grain bin cleanout system.

What bin sizes can the sweep accommodate?

Modular sections accommodate bins from 48 to 135 ft in diameter. Final selection should be confirmed against your bin dimensions and operating requirements.

How much drive power is required?

Available sweep drives range from 15 to 30 HP, depending on bin diameter. Use the specifications table above as a starting point for project review.

Can it be installed in an existing grain bin?

An existing bin needs an application review. Bin dimensions, floor and aeration layout, discharge wells, tunnel clearance, unload equipment, and electrical supply all affect the installation.

What does Zero Entry mean for this equipment?

The NexGen Paddle Sweep can form part of a complete zero-entry unloading solution, with suitable controls and discharge equipment. The overall system and operating procedures must be reviewed for your application.

Are gates, transitions, and controls included?

Transitions, gates, and controls are not included with the discharge wells. Ask for a project-specific quotation that identifies the equipment and services included.

What information should I provide for a quote?

Share your bin diameter, maximum grain fill height, grain type, existing unloading arrangement, available electrical supply, and project location. Photos or drawings of the bin and floor are also useful.
